Supporting those in need with the Durham Christian Partnership

Over the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has hit families and individuals hard across the North East. That’s why we’re delighted to be supporting one of the UK’s largest foodbank networks, the Durham Christian Partnership.
Through its County Durham and Sunderland foodbanks, the group have helped around 20,000 people a year, providing emergency nutritional food to those in crisis. The DCP’s support extends into other areas, too. Their Community Money Advice service provides free and confidential advice to those struggling with debt and financial issues.
“Wade Financial’s generous donation helps to fund professional debt money advisors who engage with individuals, primarily through signposting via the foodbanks or referrals from other agencies,” says Glenn Jones, Chair of the Durham Christian Partnership’s trustees. “We currently have over £3m of debt under management for people in County Durham. We anticipate the situation getting worse in the wake of COVID, making Wade Financial’s donation very timely and very much appreciated.”
Stephen Conway, Managing Director at Wade Financial, said: “Glenn has been a client of ours for over two decades, so I know personally just how much work has gone into expanding the DCP’s foodbanks and projects over the years. We’re proud to be helping those in financial hardship get vital free access to advice and support, at a time when it is needed more than ever.”
You can support the Durham Christian Partnership’s foodbank and related projects by donating directly to the cause, or by volunteering at the foodbank warehouse or distribution points.
