Looking forward to 2021 with the National Garden Scheme

Missing your strolls through the North East’s best and brightest greenery? The National Garden Scheme is gearing up for a full programme this year, opening gardens across the region once more and raising vital funds for some of our favourite causes in the process.
Wade Financial are delighted to be sponsoring the National Garden Scheme in the region for an eighth year, and cannot wait to see the North East in full bloom again.
“We’ve all been in some form of lockdown for almost a year. In that time, walking has become a really great outlet in terms of wellness and mental health,” says financial planner Ian Little. “We’re hoping we get to take an uplifting stroll around some of our favourite gardens in 2021 and see what the region’s gardeners have been up to during lockdown.”
The National Garden Scheme has supported nurses across the country for almost a century, and that support has not dimmed during the pandemic. “Last year, the Scheme made six-figure donations to The Queen’s Nursing Institute, as well as Macmillan, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and Carers Trust. By supporting the National Garden Scheme, you’re supporting the great work of nurses, carers and many other worthy local causes.”
Restrictions and guidelines permitting, the prospective NGS season opens at Adderstone House on Sunday 18th April, with dozens of other gardens set to follow should circumstances allow.
